Vinyasa yoga implies a gradual progression or a step-by-step approach that systematically and appropriately takes a student from one point and safely lands them at the next point. It is described as the synchronized union of breath and movement.  It is a free style flow, there is no fixed sequence which is what makes vinyasa differ from father ashtanga. It starts nice and slow, reaches a peak and restores back down. Starts again, reaches a peak and restores back down. Like a wave, a flower opening and closing.

Therapeutic Yoga sessions will be a mixture of Yin and Hatha yoga. Yin yoga is more restorative in nature and triggers deep relaxation through long held postures. Therapeutic yoga means that we will be practicing and exploring with the intention to heal, to manifest therapy and transform the body and our systems.

Yin yoga targets connective tissue, specifically ligaments and tendons in the joints and spine. Over time, practice of yin yoga can lengthen these tissues, increasing range of motion. That’s how we get flexible! To give an idea of the role that connective tissue plays in determining range of motion: muscles account for about forty percent of the resistance against the body’s flexibility, while connective tissue accounts for about fifty percent!
